A Decade of Tracking Progress for Maternal, Newborn and Child Survival: The 2015 Report

Countdown to 2015 recently released its final 2015 ReportA Decade of Tracking Progress for Maternal, Newborn and Child Survival. The report summarizes results in each of the 75 Countdown countries, examines trends in maternal and child health, and turns a critical lens to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework and future accountability efforts. The report shows that although some health issues and some countries have achieved considerable progress, important gaps remain that must not be forgotten in the transition to the SDGs. When delivered properly, primary health care can meet many of the needs of women and children to accelerate progress toward the SDGs and close the gaps identified in the Countdown to 2015 report.
